Documentaries: So Important

They are so much more important than I thought. My head is spinning. My mother has diabetes. Nowdays, you can't throw a stone in a crowd without hitting someone with the disease; it's almost and epidemic. She has been on this kick of organic/whole food/veganism, and I have been supporting her because her health could use a huge turn around. If this is what it takes to make her life better, so be it, right? Well, she has been renting dvds through Netflix, most of which have been documentaries about these new kinds of lifestyles. I've watched a few with her, I am completely blown away. It's incredible how thick the wool is that is covering our eyes! We have no idea that it's systemic pesticides that are causing the honeybees to disappear. Farmers in France found this out ten years ago, and their government has made massive improvements in their standards. Did you know that the company that makes these systemic pesticides is also the company that manufactures the aspiring you or your parents take every day to save your life? I remember being six years old and planting "red corn" in my grandmother's garden. She made such a big deal out of nothing when my older scratched his eye with a hand that was covered in red powder. Little did we know... it's a miracle he didn't lose his eye sight. We were lucky that she grabbed the garden hose to flush out his eye right as it started to burn. Did you also know that the EPA is funded (aka run) by big corporations. They're being controlled in the same way hospitals are run: the doctors with the Ph.D. examines a patient and gives a diagnosis. But his boss's boss's boss is a man with a business degree and has no idea about the medicinal side of things. All he cares about is the bottom line and never having to find the bottom of his pockets. The EPA carries out their tests through "risk assessment," which means they allow the company who wants to distribute some chemical to run their own tests any way they like, return some forms with data information and stamp it with a yes or no approval. Then, if, down the road, someone can find enough evidence as to why that particular chemical is damaging to the environment or to people, then (and only then) will they take the product back off the market. I had no idea this was going on. The mono-cultures of the massive farm corporations don't allow safe homes for bees, the farmers are forced to use pesticides because 2,000 acres of one crop is a veritable feeding frenzy. It's mind boggling to try to follow the millions of strings that circle back and somehow find themselves completely entwined with a a million other small details that we have never been told about that explain many of the problems we're facing today, including, but not limited to: autism, diabetes, loss of bees, ground water pollution, depression, anxiety, suicidal tendencies, obesity, poor economy, among others. I really hope that you'll humor me in watching/reading at least one of these suggestions: The Kind Diet by Alicia Silverstone Vanishing of the Bees Vanishingbees.com Forks and Knives The Gerson Miracle The Beautiful Truth Lots of Love, A Possible Future Beekeeper
